On February 15^th 2010, Mr. Al Zaeem met United States Congressman Brian Baird and Policy Advisor R. Nicholas Palarino. The meeting took place at the American International School in Gaza, where Mr. Al Zaeem briefed them about the school and they discussed the post war situation and the effects of the closure on education and daily life of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

The Congressmen visited hospitals, schools and other areas destroyed in the Israeli war on Gaza in an effort to witness first-hand the conditions of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

During his visit to the school, Mr. Baird told the Gazan students that the United States should break Israel's blockade of Gaza and deliver badly needed supplies by sea. The U.S. Congressman, who has announced his retirement from Congress, also stated that the United States should not condone the blockade.

Mr. Baird urged U.S. President Barack Obama's Middle East Ambassador, George Mitchell, to visit Gaza for a firsthand look at the destruction caused by Israeli's military offensive last year.
